My Christmas-New Year-Vacation Aspiration-Prayers, part 6

Editor's preface

Sri Chinmoy offered the following morning prayers during his visit to Myanmar in December 2000 and Indonesia in January 2001.

Editor's note

The following poems were written on 30 December 2000, Bagan, Myanmar.

1.

My aspiration-heart has covered
  The faraway land
Of Immortality’s Nectar-Dreams.

2.

God’s Heart hungers
  Every day
For my heart’s morning prayers.

3.

My heart sleeplessly cries,
Not for my mind’s immediate demise,
But for my mind’s full illumination.

4.

O my mind, I am telling you
That you will not be able to deny
My soul’s life-transforming delight
  Indefinitely.

5.

The outer advice
  Is utterly useless.
The inner prayer
  Is absolutely fruitful.

6.

  I call it
My heart-expansion.
  God calls it
His Satisfaction-Delight.

7.

My Beloved Supreme,
Your single Touch
Has brought me back
My inspiration-mind,
My aspiration-heart
  And
My dedication-life.

8.

Desire comes to torture my heart.
Desire comes to kill my life.
Desire comes to take me away
From my Absolute Lord Beloved Supreme.

9.

If you really love God,
Then you must never, never
Be pleased with yourself
  In your own way.
God’s Way is the only Way
For you to be pleased with yourself.

10.

What now I have
Is an earthly mind,
But I must become
A Heavenly heart.

11.

My Beloved Supreme
Throws and throws and throws
Aspiration-seeds
Inside my heart-garden.

12.

A desire-life
Strikes the mind
Hard, very hard.

13.

The fragrance of a devotion-heart
  Is unparalleled
In our spiritual life.

14.

In my outer life,
My Supreme wants me to be
  His Body.
In my inner life,
My Supreme wants me to be
  His Breath.

15.

If I do not show my Supreme
  My gratitude-face,
He will not help me win
  My inner race.

16.

My meditation-silence
  Reverberates
In the Heart-Sky
  Of my Lord Supreme.

17.

O my foolish mind,
You do not have to understand anything.
Just do one thing:
Love and love
Our Lord Beloved Supreme.

18.

Implicit faith expedites
Our God-realisation-journey
  Unimaginably.

19.

An acute shortage
  Of gratitude:
This is what a human heart is.

20.

The power of patience
  Knows
    No equal.

21.

The mind is deliberate
  Truth-limitation.
The heart is constant
  Truth-expansion.

22.

  As doubt is
The most powerful deceiver,
  Even so, faith is
The ultimate saviour.

23.

We must be extremely,
  Extremely careful:
Ignorance-forces are always working,
  Sleeplessly and vigilantly,
To lord it over us all the time.

24.

He who gives joy to others
  Unconditionally
Is God’s choicest instrument.

25.

God, out of His infinite Bounty,
  Asks me to collect
His Compassion-Smiles
  Infinitely more
Than I have ever expected.

26.

Let us bind and blind
All our desires
To please God
In His own Way.

27.

If you want to sing
God’s Victory-Songs,
Then never yield any space
  To self-doubt.

28.

God blesses me
With His infinite Pride
When I offer Him gratitude
From the very depths
  Of my surrender-life.

29.

Two equally formidable discoverers:
Mind the war-discoverer,
Heart the peace-discoverer.

30.

When we desperately
Need God’s help,
God immediately comes
As a human friend.

31.

When I am in my mind,
I become the night of sorrows.
When I am in my heart,
I become the beauty
Of a rainbow-dawn.

32.

God’s Compassion-Tree blossoms
  Only when
The tears of my heart
Are absolutely sincere and pure.

Editor's note

The following poems were written on 31 December 2000, Bagan, Myanmar.

33.

Meditation is
Desire-reduction
And aspiration-multiplication.

34.

  When I pray,
I breathe in God’s Light.
  When I meditate,
I breathe out God’s Power.

35.

True, the mind does not respond,
But the heart does respond
  To God’s morning Call.

36.

If we want to make the fastest progress
  In our spiritual life,
Then we needs must have
A doubt-proof enthusiasm-mind
  And
A doubt-proof eagerness-heart.

37.

  When I pray,
I become a crying heart.
  When I meditate,
I become a soaring soul.

38.

God has a very special fondness
For my whisper-prayers
And whisper-meditations.

39.

God wants me to think
Of only peace and bliss
When I look at others.

40.

Not our outer government
But our inner enlightenment
  Can give us peace.

41.

My unconditional surrender
  To God’s Will
Is God’s Heart-Throb.

42.

A desire-companion I was,
  But now I am
An aspiration-champion.

43.

If our hearts are empty of tears,
Then we shall not be able
To claim God as our own,
  Very own.

44.

To feel God’s Presence
Inside our hearts all the time,
Our faith has no equal.

45.

Nothingness-fulness
Is another name
  For nirvana.

Editor's note

The following poems were written on 5 January 2001, Bali, Indonesia.

46.

The mind tries
  And fails.
The heart cries
  And sails.

47.

Like your soul,
Fear not, fear not!
Go forward, go forward,
O heart, mind, vital and body—
Go forward, go forward!

48.

Aspiration and temptation
Should be taken
As the North Pole
And the South Pole.

49.

Sweeter than the sweetest,
When the tears from man’s eyes
And the Tears from God’s Heart
  Meet together.

50.

There is a secret and sacred God-society
That thinks and feels
That e-mail is synonymous
  With evil mail.
Fortunately or unfortunately,
I am a solid member
  Of that society.

51.

My heart-aspiration
Wants me to be
Expectation-rejection.

52.

The mind-dictionary houses the word
  ‘Additional’.
The heart-dictionary houses the word
  ‘Unconditional’.

53.

The human in us died
  And
The divine in us was fortified
When the Saviour was crucified.

54.

The human mind can win the election
  In the world-mind.
The divine heart always wins the election
  In God’s own Heart.

55.

O my desire-life,
Be fully prepared
For the fast-approaching
  Nightmare-attacks.

Editor's note

The following poems were written on 7 January 2001, Bali, Indonesia.

56.

Two are the greatest achievements
Of my Beloved Supreme
  Here on earth:
My gratitude-heart
  And
My satisfaction-mind.

57.

Two are my invaluable treasures
  Here on earth:
My Lord’s Compassion-Eye
    And
My Lord’s Forgiveness-Heart.

58.

My Lord Supreme,
Do give me the eagerness-capacity
  To co-operate
With Your sweet Will
  In every way.

59.

I must surrender my all
To my Lord Supreme
  If I want to bask
In God’s Nectar-flooded,
  Sunlit Attention.

60.

God wants me to approach
  His Throne
Not only with my tearful heart,
But also with my blissful breath.

61.

I value infinitely more
The Compassion-Feet of God
Than the Beauty of God’s Eye.

62.

Alas,
When will my heart be eager
To agree with everything
  That God says?

63.

From my gratitude-heart-balcony
I have an excellent view
Of God’s Sweetness-Eye.

64.

My promise to God
  Is my God-fulfilment.
God’s Promise to me
  Is my life-transformation.

65.

I must cheerfully follow
My gratitude-heart-road
  To the very end.

66.

God says to me
That He will never be satisfied
  With what I am
Until I become unconditionally
What He wants me to be:
  A God-realised soul.

Editor's note

The following poems were written on 8 January 2001, Bali, Indonesia.

67.

Now is the time for me
  To claim
My divinity’s immortal blue bird
Inside my aspiration-heart.

68.

There is only one way
To have peace on this planet,
And that way
Is through constant remembrance
  Of God’s Love
For each and every human being.

69.

It is so heartbreaking
That my mind is always unwilling
  To visit
God’s Compassion-Eye.

70.

In this new century,
I shall have no room
For frustration and failure.

71.

I shall keep always
God’s Compassion-Feet
In all challenges of life.

72.

Without peace in my mind,
I shall not be able
To see peace-blossoms
In my heart-garden.

73.

If I have an iota
Of self-doubt,
Then I shall lose
My God-receptivity-heart.

74.

God wants us to have
Only a purity-heart,
And not an austerity-life.

75.

Just an inch
When my aspiration ascends,
Immediately
God’s Satisfaction-Smile descends.

76.

The moment God reads
  My mind’s
God-existence-doubt-letters,
He swims in the sea of tears.

77.

God wants me to drive
My God-service-chariot
At top speed
All the time.

Editor's note

The following poems were written on 9 January 2001, Bali, Indonesia.

78.

The desiring mind never gives.
The aspiring heart gives,
Cheerfully and unreservedly,
Everything that it owns.

79.

The depression of the vital
Is the sad failure
  Of life.

80.

Readiness I have.
Willingness I have.
Eagerness I have.
What I need
  Is intensity.
