Interview2

Interviewer: Today we are very happy to have with us in the studio the internationally famous musician, artist, meditation Master, poet, peace advocate and, recently, world famous weightlifter, Sri Chinmoy. I can tell you that I have had the great pleasure of knowing Sri Chinmoy for the past fourteen years. Besides being a very authentic and inspiring individual, he is also one of the most charming and interesting men I have ever met.

Sri Chinmoy, we are very happy to have you and we are very interested in learning about your weightlifting and your activities. You started weightlifting at the age of 54, and you have been weightlifting for about two years. Age 54 is about the time most people are thinking about retiring. Why did you decide to take up weightlifting?

Sri Chinmoy: In my case, it is not a matter of decision. It is a matter of obedience. I listen to the dictates of my Inner Pilot. He wanted me to lift weights, so I am listening to His Command. It is not a matter of me deciding that I will take up weightlifting.
