Talk and talk about God,God’s Heart
Becomes all PrideIn them.
```Your heart-sky
Can be litOnly with your own
Aspiration-criesAnd realisation-smiles.
```Just try again and again!
All your failuresWill eventually fade away.
```Today’s life
Is nothing but a journeyFrom one ruthless struggle
To another. ```How can we have
Peace of mindIf we do not release
The iron gripOf our intolerant ego?
```The mind knows
What it has:A series of complications.
The heart knowsWhat it is:
A streaming flow of compassion. ```Alas, when shall we learn
That each undivine actionEnds in endless anxieties?
```Soulful opportunities
Knock at our heart-door.We just have to open the door
To love and please GodIn His own Way.
```When we think we cannot climb
Any higher,There begins the death
Of our inner journey. ```The absence
Of undivine thoughtsIs the presence-proof
Of purity. ```We have perplexities
In our mind-lifeJust because quite often
We consciously cherishOur mind’s confusion-perplexities.
```Alas, what am I doing?
Why am I not using fruitfullyMy life’s earth-bound time
To enter intoMy soul’s Heaven-free time?
```No soul can travel
Along the path of EternityWithout experiencing
The formidable strengthOf human tears and sighs.
```The day I do not
Pray and meditate,I invariably find myself crushed
Beneath the heavy weightOf helplessness.
```The tireless and breathless
Aspiration of the heartIs always far above
The mind’s poor understanding. ```Not because my mind
At times denies the existence of GodAm I a failure,
But because I have no timeTo kindle the flame of aspiration
In my sleeping heart-room. ```The conflict between
The mind and the heartCan be solved only
By the express illumination-presenceOf the soul.
```I have come to realise
That only GodOr His own personal Peace
Can comfortMy heart’s streaming tears.
```Everything else fails
Or will fail,But not self-giving love.
```To receive joy
In infinite measure,I always choose God’s Feet,
And not God’s Face. ```A heart that is completely dedicated
To God-serviceWill never be able to appreciate
The noise of the mind-factory. ```Each sincere seeker
Eventually becomesHis own life-transforming
Peace-apostle. ```The rarest gift to God
From the twentieth centuryWill be humanity’s
Satisfaction-smile. ```When temptation knocks
At your mind-door,Immediately say, “No!”
And continue nourishingYour “No!”
```A seeker’s rise and fall
Depend entirely onThe mind’s sincerity
And the heart’s purity. ```When I am in the mind,
I foolishly desireSatisfaction.
When I am in the heart,I wisely long for
Perfection. ```What is the end?
The end is nothing butThe beginning
Of a new and unfulfilledDream-reality.
```Winning
Is not everything.Self-giving
Is more than everything. ```May my heart’s purity-smile
Always haveA soulful access
To every seeker’s heart. ```To serve the soul
Of the world-body,We need the fragrance
Of Heaven’s Beauty. ```Each thought is an action.
Each action is eitherA bloom of satisfaction
Or a doom of frustration. ```The power
Of a peace-dreamCan radically transform
The face of reality. ```The secret
Of earth-transformationLies in the breath
Of lovers of God the creation. ```A life ruled
By a doubting mindDoes not or cannot
Dare to attempt the impossible. ```A life
Without faults and failingsIs a life
Founded upon dreamsAnd not upon reality.
```Unconditional surrender
Is the supreme heightOf a seeker’s aspiration.
```God’s immediate Response
To our sincerity-cryHelps us claim Him
As our very own. ```My mind
Loves to cherishPossession-dreams.
My lifeWants to cherish
Satisfaction-realities. ```God’s Unhappiness-Sound
We have heard.God’s Happiness-Silence
We shall become. ```Fools are those who,
Even unconsciously,Allow their desire-life
To contaminateTheir aspiration-heart.
```A life dominated by
Pleasure-desiresIs heading towards
Destruction-realities. ```God chooses to remain concealed
In our desire-forest.God loves to be revealed
In our aspiration-garden. ```Surrender without devotion
Can never reachThe ultimate Goal.
```The reasoning mind
Pretends to be very strong.But in reality
It is nothing, if not fragile. ```Alas, how long
Is my body going to sufferFrom the tyranny of my mind?
```It seems that
The more laws there areIn the outer life,
The more offendersAre easily available.
```For me it is quite easy
To please others,But, alas, quite difficult
To please my mind. ```My heart does not need
To read even one bookTo become wise.
But my mind,No matter how many books it reads,
Never becomes wise. ```To keep friendship alive,
We requireBoth time and concern.
```Nothing really belongs to us.
No, not evenOur boundless desire-hunger.
```It is by virtue
Of our inner freedomThat we can make
True outer progress. ```True spiritual life
Will never needAny outer understanding.
```If we have
A commitment-bridge to God,Then only can we have
An enlightenment-destination. ```The ego of my mind
And the pride of my heartAlways fight for prominence.
```When I am in my mind,
I cannot separate myselfFrom confusion-jungle.
When I am in my vital,I find it so difficult
To stay out of frustration-fire. ```The resistance of the mind
I have.The surrender of the heart
I am. ```Alas,
The human mind livesBetween vanishing doubt
And constantly reappearing doubt. ```For a long time
I have been begging my mindIn vain
To take a detachment-course. ```Each time
My mind does something wrong,My heart and I feel a sharp blade
Piercing our existence. ```You can arm yourself
With excuses,But your perfection will still remain
A far cry. ```If you have receptivity
In abundant measure,Then you will eventually become
A perfect truth-finder. ```A soul-made choice
Is what we needTo hasten our arrival
At our ultimate destination. ```The perfection of human nature
Cannot be achievedBy the unaspiring,
Ordinary run of mortals. ```Today’s willingness-giver
BecomesTomorrow’s fulness-achiever.
```The absence of prayer and meditation
From our livesUltimately makes us
Self-indulgence-victims. ```Only a seeker
Who is willing to be schooledIn the art of self-offering
Can slowly and steadily becomeA perfect instrument of God.
```O my mind,
If you do not search for light,You will be destined to travel
Unlit and frightening life-roads. ```Self-confidence-crisis
Each and every human being facesIn life.
```O my inner faith,
Come to the fore!I am tired of fighting
With my mind-frustration-foe. ```God wants me to run
Into the illumining future,But I love to watch again and again
My dismal past. ```Only a faith-follower
Can becomeA perfection-achiever.
```If you are abandoned by hope,
You will feel thatThere can be nothing worthwhile
In your life. ```When God’s Compassion
Reigns supreme in us,We become frequent fliers
On satisfaction-flights. ```O my mind,
Stop collectingYour worthless and useless memories
Of the past. ```Attachment-diploma
I had.Detachment-education
I now enjoy. ```Do not allow loneliness
To touch you.If you do, it may one day
Devour you. ```The fulfilment of possibilities
Cannot be imagined,But can be obtained
Through sleepless self-discipline. ```He who welcomes suspicion
Is doomed to be sneered atBy suspicion itself.
```We were not born
For human death,But for divine Immortality.
```If we do not shun
The noise of our ego-mind,How can we achieve
God’s all-illumining Smile? ```No human being
Can ever become wiseBy cherishing self-doubts.
```I am asking God
To be sincere.God is asking me
To be receptive. ```Alas,
When will I learnThat pleasing God
Is indeed a delightful task? ```I pray to God every day
To extol my heart-lifeAnd exile my mind-life.
```Self-giving to God’s Will
Is, without fail,A slow-ripening
But most delicious fruit. ```Our gratitude-heart
Is bound to multiplyThe goodness of our life.
```My Lord,
The greatest of all BlessingsFrom You
Is my willingness-heart. ```A doubting mind
And an anxiety-lifeAre generally inseparable.
```When I consciously speak ill of God,
I simply double God’s TearsAnd triple His Sighs.
```No matter what happens today,
I am determinedTo meet the heart of tomorrow
Cheerfully and smilingly. ```The past
Has tortured you enough.Now do not allow the future
To disturb you. ```The suspicion of the mind
Is indeedA colossal self-defeat.
```Each individual
Is a runner along Eternity’s Road,Passing on
The inspiration-torch of life. ```The path of the reasoning mind
Leads usTo an untimely grave.
```He who desires
To see others happyHas already covered a long distance
On the satisfaction-road. ```In the mind,
Sincerity and magnanimityAre two rare virtues.
```My Lord Supreme,
Your blessingful AdviceIs Your fruitful Assistance.
```O my mind,
Do develop a great aptitudeFor patience
To make my life happy. ```Anything that is good and divine
Does not have to be long-standingTo prove its perfection.
```When I say
That I love God only,My ignorance-night leaves me,
Not only quicklyBut also permanently.
