_Professor Carse:_ I wanted to ask you about your work at the United Nations. You have been leading meditations there for, I think, as long as fourteen years, if I remember correctly. Talk a little bit about that.

Sri Chinmoy: I am extremely grateful to the United Nations for having given me the opportunity there to pray and meditate twice a week. Now there are two ways: one is the outer way, the other is the inner way. There we pray and meditate in order to bring about peace in the world community. And also Ambassadors and delegates and others do the same thing. They also want to bring about peace. They want to have oneness-home — peace, the whole world to be inundated with peace. So, they try in their own special way, in their political way or whatever way they feel necessary. In my case, we do it through our prayers and meditations. Every Tuesday and Friday I go there and for an hour, from one to two, I pray and meditate and quite a few members from the United Nations, delegates and such, they come to meditate with me. And, from time to time, we honour the countries, their Independence Day. And when they do something great, we observe special meetings at the United Nations, and we honour the countries so that we can be one family.
