Who gave the poet in me the capacity? The Supreme in you.
Who gave you the receptivity? The Supreme in me.
I am sure all of you here know how to spell the word 'Supreme'. On your behalf, I am spelling it: S-U-P-R-E-M-E. But the Supreme in me asks me to tell you that you are totally wrong in spelling the word 'Supreme' that way. He wants me to spell the word 'Supreme' correctly: G-R-A-T-I-T-U-D-E, G-R-A-T-I-T-U-D-E. Until now, earth's dictionary did not house this word, this word which is Infinity's, Eternity's and Immortality's treasure.
The physical in me will die, has to die; this is the law of the physical. But the Divine in me will eternally remain here on earth and there in Heaven. The Divine in me, which is immortal, will always cherish and reassure two things: my gratitude to my spiritual children and their loving oneness with my soul's light and heart's cry.
Once more, to each of you I wish to say that this is how I wish to spell 'Supreme' in regard to our yesterday's achievement. What you call achievement, what you call success, that very thing He calls His progress, His own progress. Again, it is His progress — His and not mine. My Supreme's Name I spell for each disciple of mine: G-R-A-T-I-T-U-D-E.
About twenty years ago, the sprinter in your Guru won the race, and yesterday the poet in your Guru again won the race. So, the title of the book is The Goal Is Won. Twenty years ago, physically we were not together. But spiritually we definitely were together. You were not yet born in my physical consciousness, my earthly consciousness. But in the inner world you were there. It was your soul's inner vision that ran within me and through me for the ultimate Reality's Oneness. And that is why I won the race again yesterday, because the souls of all the members of our family were within me to inspire me. If you had not inspired me, I would have been absolutely nowhere. You saw inside me your own reality, your own capacity. So, here is our achievement: The Goal Is Won. And I wish to say that as long as we are on earth, we shall win. Earth's message is victory; Heaven's message is progress, continuous progress.
Our symbol, our emblem, has always been the Dream-Boat and the Golden Shore. Our first series of poems this year was entitled The Golden Boat. But this new book has touched the shore, and that is why we named it The Goal Is Won. Again, the word is 'won', but if I spell it properly, then it will be O-N-E. This book is the great accomplishment, the illumining and fulfilling accomplishment, of Heaven on earth and of earth for Heaven. Earth's oneness with Heaven and Heaven's oneness with the Supreme in each of us made it possible for us to achieve what we have achieved. Heaven offered its vision; earth offered its aspiration. And the combination of earth's aspiration and Heaven's vision enables us to become the Supreme Reality for the Supreme Reality — for its constant, perfect, ever-transforming, ever-illumining and ever-widening manifestation.
The Yogi in me, the spiritual Master in me, will always remain a child. I wish to tell you the supreme Truth that God is an Eternal Child. And he who has realised God is also an Eternal Child. I am not God, far from it! But I have realised Him. I have realised that Old Man who is eternally young, so that is why I am also eternally young. Outwardly, you will see that my hair has gone; my strength has gone. This is in the physical. But my inner strength, which is eternal strength, will always remain, and that inner strength makes me an eternal child. So, whenever I write something or do something, it is the Divine Child, the Eternal Child in me that becomes truly manifested for you.
Those of you who have given me gifts, also please feel my gratitude, the way I spell the word 'Supreme'. When a child has a birthday party and he sees so many gifts, he gets such joy. I wish to tell you that there is nothing on earth that your Guru needs. There is nothing I need either on earth or in Heaven — nothing, nothing. But again, when somebody gives me something, the Eternal Child in me gets tremendous joy, either on the physical plane or on the spiritual plane. If somebody writes an article on me or buys me some material thing, it is an expression of oneness. Expression is always necessary. We could have remained in the world of the soul, but we came into this world because the Supreme wanted us to manifest Him. Expression is our manifestation. When we express something, even in thought, that is our manifestation.
We shall go on playing the same tune, singing the same song: the song of oneness, oneness, oneness. This is not my achievement. If I say it is my achievement, it is wrong. If I say it is your achievement, wrong. If I say it is earth's achievement, wrong. If I say it is Heaven's achievement, wrong. No! This is the achievement of the Supreme in each of us. It is absolutely the achievement of the Supreme for the Supreme, for His own manifestation. So, dear ones, for one day become one with me. Let us try to become happy and grateful and one.
