Beloved Germany

At the end of his 1984 Peace Concert in Cologne, which was attended by an unprecedented 8,000 seekers, Sri Chinmoy offered his profound gratitude to Germany. That year, Sri Chinmoy had the goal of offering twenty worldwide Peace Concerts to celebrate his twentieth year in the West. This was the very first Peace Concert in the series.

Beloved Germany, breathlessly I am bowing to your soul. Soulfully I am loving your heart. Devotedly I am admiring your life. To me, stupendous is your soul, generous is your heart and precious is your life. Down the sweep of centuries, your immortal musicians have covered the length and breadth of the entire world with their music-light. They have offered a music which is unparalleled, a universal music, a music that has awakened the human consciousness and elevated the human life far beyond human imagination. The universal music Germany has offered to the world. Music is, therefore, your universal birthright. An unconditional oneness-heart is also your birthright, for you have given me this evening the golden opportunity to offer you my most insignificant music in this august hall. My beloved Germany, to you I am offering in all sincerity my gratitude-heart. To you, my aspiration-heart and my dedication-life bow and bow and bow. 24 March 1984
