_Lex_: Is there something special going on in the spiritual world of today?

Sri Chinmoy: Well, I can say only this much that right now, in this century, spiritual Masters are more active and dynamic, that is to say, the Indian spirituality. There was a time when Indian spirituality was only found in the Himalayan caves. That is to say, Indian spiritual Masters preferred to live in the Himalayan caves. But now spiritual Masters are moving all around the world. They feel that the whole world belongs to them. Spirituality is not the sole monopoly of India. Previously, the spiritual Masters, Indian spiritual Masters, were under the impression that the West was not meant for the spiritual life, forgive me to say this.

Host: There was much evidence for that. Sri Chinmoy: But now the spiritual Masters, almost all, with no exception, have come to the conclusion that the West also has every right to enter into the realm of spirituality and explore all spiritual wealth therein. That is why we can say that now the world is more awakened to the inner life than it was before.
