Sri Chinmoy was always profoundly inspired by the wise words and sayings from other cultures. In a pithy and often memorable way, using simple references from everyday life, these expressions embody the common sense, morals, advice and truth acquired by generation after generation. On 16 January 1998, while staying at the Merida Holiday Inn in Cancun, Mexico, Sri Chinmoy offered his reflections on a number of proverbs from various nations and religious traditions. Interestingly, his comments sometimes give a spiritual and personal context to the proverb. At other times, they expand upon it.From:Sri Chinmoy,The Canvas of Time, Madal Bal, Czech Republic, 2019
