12 May 1995, Cirque d'Hiver, Paris, France

Excerpt from introductory remarks given at the Peace Concert at Cirque d’Hiver by His Excellency Mr, Keshav Raj Jha, the Ambassador of Nepal to France:

Sri Chinmoy is a personality well known all over the world for his consistent struggle to spread the message of peace in the hearts of men and women from all parts of the world and all paths of life. During past decades, he has made immense contributions to promote peace.

Excerpt from a letter received from Ms, Francine Fournier, Deputy Director General for Social and Human Sciences, UNESCO, dated 5 January 1996:

I would like to congratulate Sri Chinmoy for his activities for peace and oneness, which relate to the work that we have been pursuing for half a century “to build in the minds of men the defenses of peace.”

Peace Concert dedication by Sri Chinmoy: This year the United Nations is completing its fiftieth year of serving the world-community with its soul, heart, mind and body. I am extremely happy and fortunate that my students and I have been offering our prayers and meditations to the United Nations for the past twenty-five years. Today’s Peace Concert I am most prayerfully offering to the loving heart and illumining soul of the United Nations.
