Buying a newspaper

When I bought an English newspaper, I couldn't understand the shopkeeper's pronunciation. It was thirty pence, but I thought he was saying twenty pence. I gave him twenty pence and he was saying, "Wan mo', wan mo'," but I couldn't understand him.
