Question: It seems that the followers of the Buddha worship his personal aspect.

Sri Chinmoy: If they did not worship the personal, would there be millions of statues of the Buddha? My most favourite statue is the Kamakura Buddha in Japan. There I see and feel Lord Buddha’s living presence. Each time I go there, we talk and talk and talk. We enjoy a wonderful conversation. We play games, show off our occult power and so forth. In the inner world I know what kind of games we play. And how we talk! At that time I am dealing with the personal Buddha. With the impersonal, will I have this kind of talk, conversation and games? No!
