Sri Chinmoy: The Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Rabindranath Tagore came to Kamakura in the early 1900s. They stood and meditated at the exact place where we stood and meditated. Can you imagine, they came at the beginning of the century and now it is the end of the century! Lord Buddha is immortal. We shall come and go, but Lord Buddha will remain here, generation after generation.

YBG 34-37. Sri Chinmoy answered these questions from his Japanese disciples while he was in Kamakura, Japan, on 9 March 1992. During his lifetime, Sri Chinmoy made many sacred pilgrimages to Kamakura to pay homage to the statue of the Lord Buddha there
