Heaven-grace
   And
Earth-gain.

Earth-sacrifice

Heaven-victory.

2. DON'T BE ALOOF

Don’t be aloof.
God does not want that.

Don’t be aloof.
The world cannot brook that.

Don’t be aloof.
Your soul does not understand that.

Don’t be aloof.
Your life may revolt
Against
Man, the future God.

3. TELL ME THE DIFFERENCE

Tell me the difference
   Between
Love divine
   And
Permanent liberation.

Tell me the difference
   Between
Expansion divine
   And
Lasting perfection.

Tell me the difference
   Between
Truth-discovery
   And
Bliss-reality.

4. APPRECIATION

I appreciate my heart
   Because
It deserves appreciation.

I appreciate my mind
   Because
It wants appreciation.

I appreciate my vital
   Because
It cries for appreciation.

I appreciate my body
   Because
It needs appreciation.

5. DREAMS

Bad dreams frighten me,
My helpless vital.

Good dreams enlighten me,
My fearless heart.

Earth-dreams discourage me,
My infant mind.

Heaven-dreams illumine me,
My orphan-body.

6. SOUND-BOAT, SILENCE-BOAT

When the sound-boat
Touches the Silence-shore,
I see the glorification
Of the finite
In the core of the Infinite.

When the Silence-boat
Touches the sound-shore,
I discover the perfection
Of the Infinite
In the core of the finite.

7. THE KINGDOM OF GOD'S SOUL

O dark cave of my mind,
Do not feel sorry.
My Lord Supreme
Shall visit you tomorrow,
Without fail.

O vast palace of my heart,
Lo, who is at your gate?
Don’t you recognise Him?
He is your Beloved Supreme.

“O boundless kingdom of My Soul,
Do you not remember
That you embody My Dream-sky,
That you reveal My Reality-sea
         And
That you manifest My Divinity-height?”

8. STAY WITH THE PRESENT

Stay with the past.
You will receive
Thunder-kicks from death.

Stay with the future.
You will see
The destruction-frown
Of measureless temptation.

Stay with the present.
You will eat
The Reality-fruit
Of Divinity-dawn.

9. OUR DIFFERENT OCCUPATIONS

Earth speaks untiringly.
Heaven dreams ceaselessly.
The seeker in mankind seeks rarely.
The lover in mankind fails miserably.
God pilots unconditionally.
And I sleep in ignorance eternally.

10. GOD HONOURS ME

When I aspire
God honours me.
He tells the world
That I am His fond child,
I am His choice instrument.

When I do not aspire
He also honours me.
He tells the world
That I am His future Choice,
I am His future Voice,
I shall embody His future Race,
I shall reveal His future Face.

11. TWO UNLUCKY SOULS

Lord, how long
   Can we endure our separation?
Let us settle our dispute
   Once and for all.
I shall share with You
What I have: ignorance-night.
You shall share with me
What You have: Nectar-light.

Daughter, I try and cry,
   Cry and try,
To share with you.
      But
You neither receive
   My cherished treasure,
Nor do you share
   Your treasure with Me;
      Therefore
We play the role of
Two unlucky souls
   And two helpless lives.

12. THE BARRIER OF NEARNESS

The barrier of nearness
At times does exist.
      But why?
      Because
The seeker does not surrender
His earthbound fondness to
The Master-leader;
      Because
The seeker builds a paradise of his own
   Where he wants to possess
   The Master ceaselessly
Before the Master
   Claims and proclaims him
   Compassionately and proudly
      As his own, very own.

13. BECAUSE HE IS WEAK, BECAUSE HE IS COMPASSIONATE

Because he is weak,
I love and support man
      Personally
Against the denizens
Of the other worlds.

   Because He is compassionate,
I love and support God
      Unconditionally
Against me, my life
And my world.

14. TO BUY A BLESSING

I have spent
All my aspiration-wealth
   To buy a smile
From the face of Heaven.

   I have spent
All my dedication-wealth
   To buy a cry
From the heart of earth.

   I have spent
All my surrender-wealth
   To buy a blessing
From the Feet of God.

15. AT THE APPOINTED HOUR

At the appointed hour
Humanity said to me:
   “Give me, give me.
   This is the only way
   For you to become great.”

At the appointed hour
God said to me:
   “Accept Me, receive Me.
   This is the only way
   For you to become good.”

16. THREE CHEERS

At long last
I have conquered
   Ignorance-night.
I share the good news
With earth, Heaven and God.

Earth said: “Not true, not true!”
Heaven said: “When?
How?”
God said: “Three times three cheers
For My son!
Bravo!”

17. THREE DANGEROUS THINGS

I warn myself
Against three dangerous things:
My indulgence-capacity,
Earth’s preference-capacity,
Heaven’s indifference-capacity.
My Lord Supreme
Loves and blesses me
For my great discovery.

18. DO YOU LOVE?

Do you love man?
Then give him a cheerful smile.

   Do you love God?
Then give him a soulful cry.

   Do you love yourself?
Then give yourself a powerful assurance.

19. HEAVEN IS PUZZLED

World-publicity
Declares him a great man.

   Earth-sagacity
Declares him a perfect rogue.

   Heaven-necessity
Is totally puzzled.
It knows not whether to accept him
      Immediately
Or to reject him
      Unreservedly.

20. AFTER HE HAD CONQUERED

After he had conquered earth,
He discovered
   That he had conquered nothing.

   After he had conquered Heaven,
He discovered
   That he had conquered something.

   After he had conquered himself,
He discovered
   That he had conquered not only much,
      But everything,
   Even the monstrous things that he thought
   He would never be able to conquer.

21. WHO COMES HERE?

Who comes here?
   God?
Please wait.

Who comes here?
   Man?
Why are you so late?

Who comes here?
   Satan?
I am sorry.
This is the wrong place.

22. YOUR MIND, YOUR HEART

Yours is the mind
   That sees everything
         And
   Knows everything;
         Therefore
   God tells me that you are
         Divinely great
   And that He will utilise you
   In the distant future.

Yours is the heart
   That feels everything
         And
   Loves everything;
         Therefore
   God tells me that you are
         Supremely great
   And that He is using you
   Proudly and incessantly.

23. WHAT DO YOU WANT?

What do you want?
   God’s Infinity?
It is inside the smile
   Of your eyes.

What do you want?
   God’s Eternity?
It is inside the cry
   Of your heart.

What do you want?
   God’s Immortality?
It is inside the silence-beauty
   Of your soul.

24. WHAT DO I LIKE?

What do I like?
The simplicity of your life.
   What do I like?
The sincerity of your heart.
   What do I like?
The luminosity of your soul.

Do I like anything more?
   Yes, I do.
I like the stupidity
   Of your mind,
      Although not much.

25. MY HEART, MY SOUL

I am my heart.
I do not need
   Anything more
Since my heart is soulful in itself.

   I am my soul.
I do not need
   Anything more
Since my soul is fruitful in itself.

26. GOD IS

God is my Way;
   Therefore
      I like him.

God is my Home;
   Therefore
      I need Him.

God is my Room;
   Therefore
      I love Him.

27. GIVE WHAT YOU HAVE

Do you want
Himalayan joy?
Then give to God
What you have:
Your heart’s aspiration-cry.

Do you want
Pacific peace?
Then give to man
What you have:
Your life’s dedication-smile.

28. WHEN I MEASURE GOD

When I measure
   Your God,
I laugh and laugh
   Because
Your God is not great.

When I measure
   His God,
I laugh and laugh
   Because
His God is not good.

When I measure
   My God,
I smile and smile
   Because
My God is trying,
My God is striving.

29. ON EARTH, IN HEAVEN

On earth
I am the frustration-silence
      Of hunger.

      In Heaven
I am the hunger-cry
      Of silence.

30. HIS BODY'S SLAVERY

His vital justifies
His body’s slavery.

   His mind ignores
His body’s slavery.

   His heart suffers
His body’s slavery.

   His soul liberates
His body’s slavery.

31. HUMAN BIRTH, DIVINE FREEDOM

Human birth
Needs divine freedom
For its perfection-height.

Divine freedom
Needs human birth
For its manifestation-smile.

32. WHAT I NEED

What I need
Is duty’s body.

   What I need
Is humility’s vital.

   What I need
Is serenity’s mind.

   What I need
Is purity’s heart.

   What I need
Is beauty’s soul.

33. DIVINELY GREAT AND SUPREMELY GOOD

You have commanded temptation;
      Therefore
   You are great.

You have demanded perfection;
      Therefore
   You are good.

You have obeyed compassion;
      Therefore
   You are divinely great
      And
   You are supremely good.

34. ONLY ONE

Only one need:
   God-satisfaction.

Only one deed:
   Perfection-manifestation.

35. HEART'S PUNISHMENT, MIND'S PUNISHMENT

Both
My mind and my heart
   Punish me.
Yet I love my heart
And hate my mind.

      Why?
My heart’s punishment
   Is reformatory.
My mind’s punishment
   Is vengeful.

My heart punishes me
      Because
Of my own immediate necessity.
My mind punishes me
      Because
Of its own constant necessity.

36. THE VEDIC SOUL, THE VEDIC BODY

My heart loves
The Vedic Soul
   Because
It is Silence-unity.

My life loves
The Vedic Body
   Because
It is Sound-multiplicity.

37. RIGHT FROM TODAY

Right from today
I shall not permit
   My desire-cry
To make me a certified expert
In only one branch of the life-tree
And thus doom me to remain
Totally oblivious of the rest.

   Right from today
I am invoking
   My aspiration-might
To help me climb up
Every branch of the life-tree
And thus make of me
An integral, whole and complete man.

38. A BIG FAVOUR

Can you believe
What God has asked me to do?
   He has asked me
To do Him a big favour.
   From today on,
He wants me to practise
      God-love;
He wants me to demonstrate
      God-compassion.
   I must tell you,
This is not an easy task.
Perhaps you already know it.

39. THE CREATION, THE CREATOR

The creation in me
   Is perfect
Only when it undyingly cries
   For self-emancipation.

The creator in me
   Is perfect
Only when it untiringly smiles
   At self-manifestation.

40. MY EXPERIENCE

Indulgence:
That is my earth-experience.

      Indifference:
That is my Heaven-experience.

      Preference:
That is my human experience.

      Ignorance:
That is my devastating experience.

      Love:
That is my ever-illumining
      and
   Ever-transcending experience.

41. YOUR WHOLE WORLD

Your whole world
Has gone to rack and ruin,
Not because you know not
      Who God is,
But because you have not
         Tried to discover
      Who God is,
      Where God is,
      Why God is,
         Finally,
      How God is.

42. EVERYTHING HAPPENS TO PLEASE ME

When the time is ripe,
Everything happens to please me.
Lo and behold!
Earth-cry needs me,
My dedicated service,
   To realise God.
Heaven-smile needs me,
My dedicated service,
   For its manifestation
      On earth.

43. GOD WILL DO IT

Try your best;
Do your best.
Leave the rest
At God’s Compassion-Feet.

   Devotedly
He will, without fail,
Do and fulfil
What is left undone,
   Unconditionally.

Do you know
   Who God is?
He is your desire’s Lord
   And
Your aspiration’s Slave.

44. YOU HAVE BECOME

Choose carefully,
Love unreservedly,
Surrender unconditionally.
Lo, you have become
Earth’s safe journey
      And
Heaven’s sure goal.

45. GOD-CENTRED LIFE

His is the God-centred life;
      Therefore
Earth needs him to carry her
      To God-Light.
His is the God-centred life;
      Therefore
Heaven needs him to stay
      On earth eternally
For its dream-manifestation.

46. EARTH-SORROW, HEAVEN-JOY

Earth-sorrow
Is time-born;
      Therefore
It cannot last.

Heaven-joy
Is beyond the snares of time;
      Therefore
It will not only last
      But also
   Invoke the past,
   Energise the present,
   Expedite the future
      Into the immediacy of today.

47. I HAVE THE TIME

I have no time
To think of great possibilities.

I have no time
To think of grand opportunities.

I have the time
Only for dedicated activities
And blossoming necessities.

48. MY LOVE, MY SURRENDER

My love of God
Tells me what I can be:
   God’s perfect instrument.

My surrender to God
Tells me what I already have become:
   God’s Satisfaction-smile,
   God’s Perfection-pride.

49. HIS VERY OWN

If you lead
An irresponsible life,
Earth may not like you,
Heaven may not need you,
      And
God will definitely
      Not
Claim you as His own,
   His very own.

50. THE PRIDE

In my animal life
When I was at my zenith,
I was the pride
   Of earth’s destruction-power.

   In my human life
When I am at my zenith,
I am the pride
   Of Heaven’s aspiration-power.

   In my divine life
When I shall be at my zenith,
I shall be the pride
   Of God’s Perfection-power.
