The Rewards of Pranayama

"Breathing immediately identifies us with the essence of our existence. We are touching the Source; we are reaching the Source.
  – Sri Chinmoy"

On 28 May 1967, during his Sunday afternoon class at his home in Manhattan, Sri Chinmoy gave a talk entitled 'Pranayama'. Afterwards, Sri Chinmoy was inspired to discuss some of the great advantages of 'pranayama' or yogic breathing with one of the participants, Mr. Jacko. A small portion of this exchange has been published in Sri Chinmoy's book "The Body, Humanity's Fortress" (1974). Several long silences on the recording of this conversation are explained by the fact that Sri Chinmoy was demonstrating to those attending the class the correct technique for alternative breathing.
