The Soundless Sound-Heart
In April 1984, when Prachar asked Sri Chinmoy what he should call his newly formed music group, Sri Chinmoy replied that the name should include the word 'peace'. It was at the time of the new Peace Concerts, and Sri Chinmoy said something to the effect that "Everywhere all our activities now are for peace." Prachar was inspired to name his group 'The Music for Peace Ensemble'. However, the story did not end there. Prachar recalled that Sri Chinmoy had written or said something along the lines of: "Music and meditation are the only ways to establish lasting peace." He asked if anyone knew of such a quote. When his question was relayed to Sri Chinmoy, Sri Chinmoy's response was to write the following statement on the nearest sheet of paper and say: "Here is his answer."

And the thoughtless music-soul
Are the two God-Ways
To bring Peace into the world.
