Editor's introduction to first edition

This is the 413th book that Sri Chinmoy has written since he came to the West in 1964. His first book was published in 1970.

C.K.G. is the artistic pen name of the Indian mystic and yogi Sri Chinmoy. Sri Chinmoy calls his paintings and drawings Jharna-Kala.

In Sri Chinmoy’s words, “Jharna-Kala is eternal, infinite and immortal. ‘Jharna-Kala’ is a Bengali word. It means ‘Fountain-Art’. This Foutain-Art is the direct revelation of the different states of Consciousness, human and divine, Universal and Transcendental.”

Sri Chinmoy is not only an extraordinary artist, but also an accomplished composer and musician. This songbook contains the twenty-three songs Sri Chinmoy has composed about his Jharna-Kala.
