Question: What is the difference between consciousness and soulfulness?Sri Chinmoy: Consciousness spreads; it is vast, all-embracing. Soulfulness goes deep. When you are soulful, your whole being is going inward, inward, inward. Just think of consciousness as the ocean and soulfulness as the depth. Consciousness is like a very huge, vast tree. Soulfulness is inside every branch, every leaf. Soulfulness is very deep, and in its depths you will find the whole tree. Consciousness and soulfulness go together like the beauty and fragrance of a flower.
