256. THE COSMIC GODS
I find it so difficult   To reconcile with the cosmic gods.
Indifferent they always have been.
Now they have become something more:
   They find fault with humanity’s
       Doleful and soulful cry.
O cosmic gods, remain where you are
   In some fairylands high.
Let the world go its way.
   Let the world evolve in God’s perennial Way.
